The Journey of NIKE Energy
The story of NIKE Energy Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd.
began in 1977 in Varanasi, when the company was
established as NIKE Industries by
Shri B. P. Agrawal. From its early engineering
activities, the company steadily developed its manufacturing
capabilities and expanded into increasingly demanding industrial
applications.
Over the decades, NIKE Energy has evolved through continuous
engineering development, manufacturing experience and close
involvement with India's growing power, railway and industrial
infrastructure. Its journey reflects a gradual transition from
specialized mechanical products and tools to a diversified
engineering manufacturing organization serving critical
infrastructure sectors.
Building the Engineering Foundation
During its formative years, NIKE developed practical expertise
in mechanical engineering and specialized industrial equipment.
The company manufactured wheels for four-sheave pulleys,
worked on sagging winch machines and developed drum lifting
jacks and trolley wheels.
The company subsequently expanded its capabilities in sheave
rollers, erection and stringing equipment and other specialized
tools used in demanding engineering applications. These early
developments established the manufacturing foundation on which
the company's later expansion was built.
Expanding into National & International Markets
As its engineering capabilities grew, NIKE expanded beyond its
early product range and entered new areas of industrial
engineering. The company developed a braking system for diesel
locomotives and subsequently supplied components and equipment
for railway and infrastructure applications.
A significant step in the company's growth came in
1991, when NIKE began exporting its products
internationally. This marked the beginning of its transition
from a primarily domestic engineering manufacturer to a company
serving customers and markets beyond India.
Power, Railway & Infrastructure Engineering
During the 2000s, NIKE continued to diversify its engineering
capabilities. The company began working with
BHEL for various turbine spares and developed
rail and rope tools, ladders and hardware fittings for power
transmission lines.
The company also developed specialized tools for
CPRI and equipment for high-voltage conductor
stringing applications. These developments strengthened NIKE
Energy's position in power transmission, railway and industrial
infrastructure engineering.
Advancing Precision Engineering
During the 2010s, the company continued to expand its technical
capabilities through the development of specialized stringing
equipment, tools for major infrastructure projects and advanced
inspection capabilities.
In 2017, NIKE installed a
high-precision CMM system, strengthening its
dimensional inspection and quality-control capabilities.
The company subsequently developed
quick-release couplings and expanded its
railway engineering portfolio, including the development of
91 railway electrification fittings for OHE and TSS
applications.
Advanced Engineering & New Capabilities
From 2020 onward, NIKE Energy entered another phase of
engineering development, expanding its capabilities across
railway, aerospace, precision manufacturing and power
applications.
The company developed locomotive pantographs and motor
suspension units and launched its Cierre-A
brand for stainless-steel and hot-dip-galvanized fasteners.
In 2021, NIKE operated a workshop at
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Kanpur –
Transport Aircraft Division, supporting precision
machining and injection moulding through its technical team.
In 2022, the company became an approved source
for electrical and diesel locomotive critical components and
started manufacturing a 1.6-ton hand-operated pulling
and lifting machine.
Recent Achievements
NIKE Energy's recent development has been marked by significant
production achievements and increasingly specialized engineering
capabilities. In 2023, the company machined
more than 15,000 railway wheels, while also
developing coupling and traction-related products and upgrading
its traction regulating equipment.
In 2024, NIKE developed a
high-reach pantograph prototype and expanded
its range of specialized hose couplings. The company also
achieved approval for 765 kV transmission
hardware, representing an important development in its
high-voltage power transmission capabilities.
In 2025, the company continued its engineering
development with the manufacturing of
critical components for power assemblies in diesel
engines.
Engineering for the Future
From its beginnings as an engineering unit in 1977 to its
present-day capabilities across power transmission, railway
electrification, precision manufacturing, aerospace and
specialized industrial engineering, NIKE Energy's journey has
been shaped by continuous technical development and practical
manufacturing experience.
Today, the company continues to build on this foundation,
combining decades of engineering experience with modern
manufacturing, inspection and product-development capabilities
to support the evolving requirements of infrastructure and
industrial customers in India and international markets.
