Anti-Twisting Galvanized Steel Wire Rope (Pilot Wire/Pilot Rope) is braided from 8, 12, or 18 high-tensile steel strands and is specially designed for pulling conductors during overhead transmission line stringing. With half the strands left-lay and half right-lay, it provides a stable non-rotating performance, high flexibility, and uniform pressure distribution between wires and strands—ensuring efficient and smooth stringing operations.
The hexagonal cross-section, especially in the 18-strand design, closely approximates a circular shape, increasing contact area with the puller’s bull wheel groove and reducing wear, tear, and rope damage.
